The grapes for the Heritage Chardonnay were carefully chosen from cool, fog-influenced vineyards sustainably farmed along the California Coast. The team at De Loach practise sustainable viticulture and have a light touch in the winery to ensure the wine stays true to its origin.
The must was fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks in order to retain the fresh fruit flavours in the wine. The winemakers then blended in a small amount of barrel-fermented Chardonnay in order to add further aromatic complexity and richness.
The nose expresses fresh aromas of honeysuckle and citrus fruit. This wine is medium-bodied, with bright acidity and a delicious creaminess on the palate. Flavours of ripe pear, lemon curd and vanilla lead to a clean and lively finish.
